Xyonists Today

Of course this is an over generalisation and there is much variety to be found within the Union.  The most ‘Xyonist’ of systems are to be found at the core of the Union with Agama, Haggai, Masada and New Jerusalem, closely followed by Baal and Aggadah.  When you get into the Outer Quadrants then 'Xyonism' is related to economic development with the richer and more populous systems adopting more of the trappings of core worlds.  Some might say this is because they can afford it, but these are also the systems that tend to attract most of the professional and educated migrants from the established worlds of Q0.  However, it is important to remember that the bulk of the Union's population still resides in Q0.

Who's Who

The most prominent and respected Xyonist, at least within the Union, is the Speaker of Xyon – a figure who tends to remain a constant in peoples lives as it is not unusual for them to hold the post for 20 years or more.  The current Speaker is Tarik Faraj, who took up the position in 3201.295.  After the Speaker comes the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.  There are then the heroes who capture the imagination of the public at the time, such as the explorers Halo Jones and Cdr Lev Sharma of the UXN.  Finally there are the stars of popular culture such as Izhar Cohen & The Alpha-Beta, the diva Dana Interstellar, and the ever popular TriVid stars like Woody Zelig, Barbarella Streisand and Morag Lipmann.
